You would think so, but the answer is no, sadly. School counselors have their work cut out for them with mental health counseling, college and career counseling, writing letters of recommendation, and more!
And from experience, if a teacher doesn’t have enough time to eat lunch during their lunch break, they probably won’t have the bandwidth to read, edit, and give feedback on each of your student’s essay drafts. What’s more, writing college essays is not part of the high school English Language Arts curriculum.

The internet is full of resources, but how do you know what’s good enough? I’ve already taken the time to research and vet resources, and my specialty is creating personalized material to meet each student where they are.
Moreover, successful college essay writing goes beyond just good spelling and grammar; it involves several skills like organization, time-management, motivation, idea-generation, and revision. So if a student struggles with inertia and procrastination, that’s where my coaching can help too!

Being a strong writer is definitely a plus when it comes to writing college essays! However, because the style and content of college essay writing is different than what’s taught and required in school, creating stand-out college essays can be challenging even for a student earning an A+ in English.
And given multiple and overlapping submission dates, students may struggle to structure their time in a way that allows them to write thoughtful and polished essays by the deadline. But if you think your student has the skills to go at in alone, feel free to contact me regarding my Proofreading & Feedback service! -
Given the true amount of time it takes to be an effective college essay coach, I cap my caseload at ten full-time clients* (or its equivalent), so you can sleep easy knowing that the student is in fact receiving individualized attention on and off Zoom. *committed to a weekly 60 or 90-minute Zoom session

I charge for every hour of work — whether I’m preparing for a session, leading a Zoom, or providing written feedback.
For my Coaching service, you can expect me to spend about 4-6 hours total supporting your student with an average 250-word essay. For my Proofreading & Feedback service, you can expect me to spend about half that time. -
Short answer: no, sorry. Other than giving your student a physical high-five, there’s nothing I can do in person that I can’t do on Zoom. In fact, as a program director when schools went remote, I was actually in charge of teaching other educators how to use technology as a tool for learning and engagement.
Another lesson that came out of the pandemic: time is valuable. So if I can send your student a recap email or some example essays in the time it would take me to drive home from your place, we both win!

No. But I can guarantee that through my services, your student’s chances of being considered for admissions will be much higher than if they’d written their essays without my guidance.
